Now that it's absolutely freezing in a few areas, sweater weather is in full effect. I myself have a few sweaters that I just can't live without but I feel like I need to up the ante. I love a good, warm, cozy, fuzzy sweater, but there are times when I just feel frumpy with them on. As much as I'm going to miss my lighter clothes (I live in NC, and the summer tends to live on a little longer than New Jersey's), it's friggin cold out!
I don't like the feeling of drowning in a sweater. I prefer it to compliment my shape instead. No one wants to walk around flopping about in a gorgeous but over-sized sweater (unless that's a specific look you're going for...I'm not throwing salt) The sleeves need to be fitted at the wrist but loose enough that if I chose to roll them up, I could do so with ease.
Sweaters can be in an array of colors and textures. The main question that you should ask yourself before you make a sweater purchase (or any other purchase) should be, "How am I going to wear this?" Jeans? Skirt? What are it's many functions? This year I would love to try a sweater with a skater or bubble skirt. Cute right? Of course, my main go to when dealing with sweater weather, will always be the sweater dress. I love them. There's no guess work. I recently received a cute one from Lane Bryant and I'll wear it at my gig tomorrow night. I'll tell you how it goes.
