Potty Training: The Saga Continues
I sit here and watch Lillian like a hawk, and I've realized she's a little copy cat. I say that in the most flattering way. She doesn't realize that I see her, see me, see her, watching me. I know your paying attention boo.
She has me on my P's and Q's. Anything that I do she attempts immediately. She'll chop up her waffles when she sees me slicing cucumbers. She'll feed her babies with the spoon she hoards (specifically for feeding her babies) after breakfast. When my phone rings, any toy she has in her hand at that moment becomes a phone and she's conversing with someone on the other end.
I've ended up using this to my advantage. When I need to do the laundry, here she comes to help me load and unload the dryer. When I need to load the dish washer, mommy's little helper comes to the rescue (no knives of course!) It's even come in handy while potty training. Since I'm pregnant, I'm going every hour. I've started using the kid's bathroom so when she follows me, we'll be next to her potty (score). The only issue we've run into is underwear. She hates her diaper now (HATES. LOATHES. CAN'T STAND 'EM). She doesn't want to lay down to get her diaper changed. I've had to assemble the diapers first and then slide them on like underwear. But, once she has them on, she doesn't want to keep them on. How about that? I'm guessing that she'll hate Pull ups too, which doesn't matter because she's too small for them anyway. So I'm on the hunt for baby underwear.
So far, the selection SUCKS!!! Everything starts at 2T (which is a sign from the heavens that we're trying too early). She's 20 months and she still fits into 12 months clothing (heck 9 months if we try). These 2T drawers (I'm uncomfortable calling them panties...shivers) are going to slide down her little frame. I was starting to come to the conclusion that she'll just have to wear them with a pair of suspenders. That'll be an interesting look, don't you think so? I started to look up different discussions about the matter and someone hinted that Gerber makes baby training pants. Another option is Gap kids. They carry size XXS (wow, really?! Lilly will end up with nicer underwear than anyone else in the house!) Then it hit me, and I remembered Tre's first pair of underwear! Tre's boxer briefs were fancy too! (Bougie kids) I purchased his from Crazy 8. I quickly ran over to their website, and sure enough size XXS underwear were available. The difference between Kids Gap and Crazy 8 is this...I HAVE A COUPON! WOOT! I'll follow up after our trip to the mall for fancy undies, and unload the haul.
Until next time,
