Aug. 16th-18th Weekend Summary

This weekend was great. I had the opportunity to do a bit of fashion networking at a Mix and Mingle hosted by  Avance` Model Management. It was located at an Asian inspired restaurant, Zinda's, in downtown Raleigh, NC. The food was phenomenal. I tried calamari for the first time and now I'm a fan. I was told that it is some of the best in town which means all calamari must reach those standards in order for me to enjoy it. While there, I may have potentially located a second jewelry designer. YAY!!!

There were bits and pieces from every aspect of the Raleigh fashion scene. Models, photographers, up and coming New York Fashion week designers, Bloggers, and "Miss Raleigh USA 2014" Oh MY! Definitely worth the gas and parking. I was even offered an opportunity to style up coming photo-shoots (Insert loud piercing shriek here).

I finished up the weekend with a Sunday evening with friends, food, and great conversation. My wonderful husband cooked the meal while I tried my hand at a strawberry shortcake dessert. I ran to the store and collected two angel food cake logs, two containers of cool-whip and a crap-load of strawberries.  Layer after layer I built this monster of a dessert praying that it comes out right. I layered it as if I were making Cherries in the Snow, another dessert I've never made (or eaten because I don't like cooked or baked cherries). I was nervous because the cake was SOOOO dry, but the nearly frozen cool-whip fixed that. Large portions were eaten and bellies were filled. Mission complete.

In other news, I swear, everywhere I went this weekend, people loved my neon head dress!

Not a bad weekend if I say so myself!

Love,
