This image of Rihanna popped up on my Facebook time line. At first I was about to ignore this picture, because it was from a Soror who always posts pictures of Rihanna. I made a joke a while back about her being in the RiRi Navy (fan club), and she didn't deny it. But, as I glanced at the photo, I noticed that this wasn't another Rihanna fanatic post. Look at Rihanna's lipstick! At first glance, I knew this color was everything. A matte deep plum that's closer to black rather than purple. When I clicked on the picture I was immediately bombarded with comments from other Facebookers who were trying to figure out the shade. Some were insisting that it has to be MAC because this is the brand of which her makeup line came from. Others insisted that the lip color is from Rihanna's makeup artist's make own line. Sadly after all was said and done, we all discovered that the color was photo-shopped. Who does that? What fiend would fake a color that fabulous? I've scoured the internet looking for something similar in MAC. No luck. We never found the shade. Now I'm going to try to create a similar shade!
So, I whip out my chemistry set (several lipsticks) and I experiment. I am using a purple and my black lipsticks.
a guide to make GRURPLE

- ADMIRE COLOR UNTIL YOU REALIZE....
- IT'S NOT THE RIGHT COLOR LOL!
Now that I've failed at recreating this color, 2 things: 1. I'm sorry that I've failed, but I really like this color. I'm calling it GRURPLE...GRAY + PURPLE. 2. Next time I'm going to use red instead (and less powder).
HAVE YOU EVER MIXED COLORS TO CREATE A SHADE THAT YOU CAN'T FIND? WHAT WHERE YOUR RESULTS?
Until next time,
