Laboring Necessities

This is my second pregnancy, which means this isn't my first time around the block when it comes to labor and delivery. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way claiming to be some kind of pro, but I know what to expect after the bambino gets here. As soon as the little one is delivered, I know someone is going to try and snap some photos of us together. The first time around, I ended up with horrible looking photos (thanks a bunch MOM!) This time I have a few tricks up my sleeve to look some what human this time around. I have a cute little list of tidbits to look presentable on camera.

I plan on packing a small makeup bag in addition to my regular makeup bag. These are its contents:

Cleansing towelettes!!! When getting a baby here, you're perspiring like there's no tomorrow. I hated it last time. I wanted to wash my face every five minutes, but of course that's not an option, when the epidural accidentally numbs only half of your lower body. This is why I have given my husband the task of being my "towel boy". He's already in charge of feeding me ice chips, he might as well wipe me down as well. As soon as the new baby is here, hand me one of those jokers to look refreshed.

I loved these little cans of moisture from the first time I laid eyes upon on them. To some they may seem like a waste of cash, but they help "fix" makeup and set it as well. Right after my face is clean, a mist of evian will act as a toner. ($11.00 at Walgreens)

I tend to be a bit shiny at times but I still need a moisturizer. When I moisturize my skin, it looks healthier and almost photo ready.

Last but not least, I am packing a jar of this stuff. All of that stupid (but necessary) breathing makes your mouth super dry! So, you'll keep hydrated on the inside with those ice chips. And to avoid cracked, white lips you need something on the outside. I choose Vaseline because it lasts and lasts. And a container is really cheap! And think of it this way, once the baby gets here s/he can have the rest of its contents to help prevent diaper rash.
