I understand that Valentine's Day is only moments away and that there may be those of you who have no plans for the big V-Day. No worries! I've got 10 things to keep you occupied on February 14th. Although I am a married woman, I realize that not everyone is married, dating, or even interested in this holiday, which is why I'm offering several options.
Valentine's Day by jonece-a-la-mode featuring Tory Burch
Are you Married?:
1. You and your spouse should skip arm in arm to your preferred lingerie boutique or peruse the department store's selection of seductive lacey-things and find something the both of you like. Ladies, model it that evening.
2. Search for a local bed and breakfast or search Airbnb.com and find an inexpensive place to steal away this Friday and don't home until Sunday. Bonus points if you can get close to dining and attractions.
3. Spice up your bedroom decor. Redecorate your bedroom to look like a love den. Buy scented candles, luxurious linens, and a few other tid bits to make your room scream SEX. The fun's not over when Valentine's Day comes to past, continue to enjoy your love nest all year round. Just remember to update every once in a while to keep things new.
4. Start a V-Day text-a-thon. Can’t spend the whole day together? Send your partner a steamy text every hour, on the hour. By the time your honey gets home, the anticipation will be at an all-time high. -thenest.com
Are you Dating?:
5. Visit another country. In your own backyard, that is. Always wanted to go to Japan? Hit up your local museum’s Japanese collection, grab sushi at your favorite restaurant, and then sing the high notes at your local karaoke bar. -thenest.com
6. Use sidewalk chalk to declare your love. When you stroll through town or down a paved trail, leave a testament of your love by etching you initials into a heart with an arrow through it in several locations. Or, create a mini-mural and write down how your significant other makes you feel. As you make your way home on this same path, stop and kiss at each marker you've created. -adapted from FamilyLife's Simply Romantic, Dates on a Dime
7. Create a digital scavenger hunt. As you visit fun or romantic spots in your city, ask passers-by to snap photos of you and your boo in these places. Upload it later and make a collage or print it out to make a book. -adapted from FamilyLife's Simply Romantic, Dates on a Dime
Are you Single?:
8. Gather your favorite gal pals and celebrate the day with a Valentine’s Day brunch filled with flowers, sweet treats and champagne! Dress up in ultra feminine pieces, like a tulle skirt and lots of jewels. Fill your home with all things girlie: soft peach roses, candles, balloons and of course, plenty of sweet treats. It wouldn't be Valentine’s Day without dessert! And, cheers to the fabulous ladies in your life! -adapted from TheGlitterGuide.com's A Valentine’s Day Surprise Brunch
9. Do something nice for yourself. Buy yourself flowers or that item that you have had your eye on at the mall. Or schedule a little pampering, like a massage, facial, manicure or pedicure. If you can't afford to pamper yourself, do it at home. Listen to some great music, take a bubble bath, light candles, drink tea, eat chocolate and curl up with a good book or watch a movie.
Not Interested in Valentine's Day at All?:
10. Great! It's time to shoot love in the face! With the proper safety equipment and a paintball gun that is. I don't suggest that you arm your self with a paintball gun and take to the streets, sniping unsuspecting couples that go by. You're not cupid, sit yourself down! Instead, hit the field, forget the date, and have some fun.
Happy Valentine's or Not Valentine's Day Every One!!!!

What are you doing on Valentine's Day?
These are great tips too. Love that you included everybody. I'm single but I will be treating myself to a 5 course dinner tasting with a catering company that I love. I've never been in a relationship around Valentines Day anyway, but this is the first time that I'm not in going to be in the house doing nothing.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoyed yourself! How was it?
DeleteI love love love this post! I think it's cool that you included everyone, too. And though I'm married, I want to do the things the dating crowd are doing, too. I will be adding a few of these to my arsenal-- Valentine's Day or not. Thanks for the great suggestions!
