Fashion Fridays: Item of the Month

A few weeks ago, Lilly Pulitzer for Target hit the shelves, and then quickly left the shelves. I'd mourned for days weeks about the greedy women who snatched up the merch just to have it. I have been ogling LP for years at my mall. There's never a sale in that section of Belk. *Le Sighe. I wanted a simple scarf from the collection. That way I'd be able to enjoy the lavish look of Lilly without the blow of such a pricey receipt. None the less, there wasn't any for me. That is until....

MOTHER'S DAY!!!

My husband (and children) showered me with all kinds of sentimental items that I can burn . . . candles. LOL. Bag after bag of home fragrances, my home will smell like lavender and roses until I pass away. As the packages and gift bags started to dwindle down, all there was left was one little bag. I open and read the card first, then I carefully, yet anxiously, un-wrap the tissue paper. Voila!!! A Lilly Pulitzer scarf in Nosey Posey! I screech! He had asked me a week ago which print I had liked the most. I broke down my list from fav to least fav. Nosie Posey was at the top of my list. Numero uno. Ace. That print SCREAMS, "Preppy Country Club". He tells me to look in the bag for something else. I pull out a head band of the same print. I asked him, how did he get this? "These are so, like, not everywhere!" His response was "I'm the Man!" (Cue up song :Aloe Blacc - The Man)

So I was pretty much gassed up for the rest of the day. I spoke in a high pitched voice for about 30 minutes. Nothing went wrong that day. And, if it did, I never noticed it.

So with that said, my Item(s) of the Month are the Lilly Pulitzer head scarf and headband in Nosie Posey. I'd post the link to purchase...but there's no point.
