Make Me Over Monday: 5 WAYS TO MAKE YOUR MANI LAST LONGER

I haven't gotten  a proper manicure in months. I've quit painting my nails. Why? "I feel like it's a pointless ritual." That's what I'm telling myself, but I don't mean it. I love getting manicures! I've loved fingernail polish since my very first manicure. Thanks mom! I love the filing, the clipping, the scrubbing, the massages, the hot towels, the colors, the and most of all, the relaxation I feel while I'm there. When I got a little older, I'd kill for a full set. I love getting my nails done. But, sigh, things have changed. As a SAHM, I'm washing something or cleaning up a mess every five minutes. When I do my nails, or get them done, the polish is gone within 24 hours. I guarantee it! Money and time ....WASTED! I feel defeated with that first chip. BUT! I refuse to stay down for long.

Here are 5 ways to make your manicure last longer:

1: Buy rubber gloves! A simple fix. Our grandmother's have been using these in the past. Why did we stop? While we're at it, let's make the most out of these gloves. Apply your favorite moisturizer and then put on your gloves. Tada!

2: Gel Polish. Next trip to the nail salon, do yourself a favor: try the gel. Some feel like the polish weakens your nails. If you remove them properly, your nails should be just fine. On the up side, the polish lasts 2 weeks.

3. Are you more of an at home mani girl? Great! So am I! When you paint your nails, remember to use the top coat underneath your nail. This will help the polish stay on longer.

4. Reapply a top coat after a few days. Just make sure it's dry before you go on about your day.

5. Nail stickers? Yes please! More specifically Jamberry Nails. Not only are they not a total suck, but the last 2 weeks! (according to my sales representative).

What are some of your nail polish tricks?

Until next time,
