Dark lips, oh how I've missed thee. Your mystery. Your sex appeal. I've been waiting, and I can't wait any longer. I need my dark lipstick! Vampy lips, here I come.
Cooler months means cooler makeup tones. My husband informs me that it's still summer and that it will continue to be so for a few weeks. Well, poo on him and the unchanged leaves on the trees. In my eyes, fall is here, and in this installment of Make Me Over Monday, I'm experimenting with different deep red matte lip colors.
1) Maybelline COLORblur by LIPSTUDIO in Plum Please. This mechanical matte pencil just happens to be a cream on one side, and smudge stick on the other. The commercials and ads show a "different" way to wear it: color on the inner parts of your lips and smudge it to your lip line. Orrrrr....you can wear it the old fashion way. *HINT TO MAYBELLINE: IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT.*
2) Maybelline COLORsentational in Divine Wine Matte. It's not as deep as I'd like, but it's still very lovely. Please use a lip primer and liner before use. This matte makes me feel like a rock star, but you may need to reapply throughout the day.
3) L.A. Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss in Backstage. This lip color screams Ooh La La! This it's the Vampiest matte color in my arsenal ( for now) and I love it. A few notes though: when you apply it on, let it fully dry before you close your mouth. Oh, and no eating or you'll be pealing off the color shortly after. This Matte is a true commitment. It's more binding than a lot of these celebrity marriages.
So, these are my current choices and I'm loving them. What are some of your favorite Vampy lip selections?
Until next time,
