My mother used to tell me, “If you’d lie you’d steal, if you’d steal you’d kill”. I used to roll my eyes at what she said simply because I never fully understood what she was saying. I looked at her like she was crazy and thought, “Woman! I’m no murderer!” As an adult I can completely comprehend. If one is capable of lying, then they are capable of stealing. The same goes for killing as well. So, what exactly is the price of lying? When we lie we create a mistrust between ourselves and those we have lied to. We steal their trust, in which we do not rightfully deserve. When we lie we are potential killing what ever relationship status we may have with those we have lied to. In a sense when we lie, we do all three: Lying, Stealing, and Killing.
