Not the dreaded P.T.! Yes, Lilly has been telling us for weeks that she is ready to be potty trained. I understand that she is only 1 and half, but her maturity level is far beyond her age.
Compared to her big brother, this seems a bit too early. (Tre refused to go until he was in his late 3's) The issue was a lack of communication (this was pre-autism diagnoses). But, this is simply not the case for Lillian. At the same time, I'm feeling pressure from family members who feel like it's time. She is showing certain signs of being ready, but at the same time, I will not force her if she's not entirely ready. I mean she's only 1 1/2, give her time! Never the less, we will try it out. If it works, WONDERFUL! If not, no pressure. We'll simply try again in a month or so.
These are some of the signs that potty training is in the near future.
5. She's patting herself before and after she goes in her diaper.
4. She's purposely crapping on herself and uses it as an excuse to out of bed during nap time.
3. She knows how to wipe.
2. She'll bring me a new diaper when she's lightly wet.
1. She's telling me with her own words. "Ma I pee pee" " Ma I poo poo" "Ma I stink stink" these are all of her phrases of choice to let me know that it's time to go.
So, with that information, we're off to Babies R US to find a pink potty.
Let the potty chronicals begin.
Wish us luck.
